The Minnesota Vikings have made another low-profile strike in free agency.
Receiver Bryan Walters, who was released by the San Diego Chargers on March 13, tweeted on Monday afternoon he is "(o)fficially a Minnesota Viking!"
The team confirmed the signing shortly after in an email.
Walters, 24, signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of Cornell, where he recorded 144 catches for 2,032 yards in 12 touchdowns in four seasons. He also returned kickoffs and punts for the Big Red.
The Chargers cut Walters after he suffered a hamstring injury in his first training camp but re-signed him to the practice squad in December, then to a futures contract in January.
He ended up spending time on the 53-man roster last season, appearing in four games and recording three catches for 27 yards -- two of them for 21 yards in the season opener against the Vikings.
