And then there was one.
The Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms on a four-year deal with top draft pick Chris Cook, an NFL source confirmed on Thursday morning. That leaves only fellow second-rounder Toby Gerhart unsigned as players depart for training camp in Mankato.
The deadline to report for camp is Thursday night. However, NFL sources have said the only deadline that matters for Gerhart's deal is Friday afternoon, when the Vikings begin practice.
No terms were immediately available on Cook's deal.
Drafted 34th overall in April, Cook had his deal slotted once No. 33 pick Rodger Saffold agreed to terms with St. Louis on Wednesday to a four-year deal that reportedly has a maximum value of $6.3 million, including $3.9 million in guarantees. No. 35 pick Brian Price already had signed a four-year, $5.35 million with Tampa Bay that included a $2.72 million signing bonus.
The Vikings likely got a little closer to signing Gerhart late Wednesday night, when the player drafted behind him -- Jason Worilds, the No. 52 pick -- agreed to terms with Pittsburgh. No. 50 pick Javier Arenas signed with Kansas City earlier Wednesday, so Gerhart's deal is now slotted as well.
