MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Vikings have added former University of Minnesota quarterback and NFL fullback/tight end MarQueis Gray through the waiver wire.

Gray, 24, was let go by the Cleveland Browns on Saturday after spending 2013 in Cleveland under current Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner. The Vikings have also been awarded tackle Mike Harris off waivers. Harris played for Turner in 2012 with the San Diego Chargers.

The Vikings waived linebacker Larry Dean and tackle Austin Wentworth to make room for the additions.

Practice squad moves

Joe Banyard, who the Vikings cut on Saturday, cleared waivers and has been added to the Vikings' practice squad, per his agent.

Tight end Chase Ford and receiver Kain Colter have also been added to the practice squad, per ESPN.

Mike Remmers has reportedly been added to the practice squad and a similar situation could await Wentworth if he clears waivers.

One 2013 draft pick won't be added to the practice squad in guard Jeff Baca, per his agent, who was told the "door will remain open."

Update: 1:55 p.m.

The Vikings announced nine additions to the practice squad, including rookie cornerback Kendall James, defensive tackle Isame Faciane, defensive end Justin Trattou, center Zac Kerin, receiver Donte Foster, Remmers, Banyard, Colter and Ford. The team has one spot left, possibly for Wentworth if he clears waivers.
