Could Antoine Winfield be headed back to the Minnesota Vikings?
The cornerback, who signed with Seattle during the offseason after being released by the Vikings, won't make the Seahawks' 53-man roster, according to CBS' Jason La Canfora.
Winfield signed a one-year, $2 million deal with Seattle that could pay another $1 million in incentives.
La Canfora reports the Seahawks could look to trade Winfield, possibly to the Vikings or Washington, but if a deal can't worked out he will be released. The Vikings are planning to have second-year corner Josh Robinson replace Winfield as the starter at left corner and then have Robinson slide inside in the nickel.
Winfield played inside in the nickel defense for the Vikings and was one of the best in the NFL at that role. Robinson, meanwhile, is just learning to play that spot.
