The Minnesota Vikings filled the vacant spot on their practice squad on Monday by signing former Minnesota State University, Mankato receiver LaMark Brown.
The move was expected since Brown was taken for a physical after his Friday workout, which also included receivers Raymond Webber and Bryan Walters.
The Vikings listed Brown (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) as a tight end. But he mostly played receiver in college -- three years at Kansas State, then one for the Mavericks in Division II -- and ran the 40-yard dash in 4.58 seconds at the "U" pro day in March.
Brown, 23, wasn't drafted in April. He since has had stints with Atlanta, Buffalo and Tampa Bay, which released him from its practice squad on Nov. 13.
The Vikings had an extra spot after promoting offensive lineman Troy Kropog to the 53-man roster on Friday to replace receiver Percy Harvin, who was placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.
