The Minnesota Vikings announced the inevitable move to injured reserve for linebacker Desmond Bishop, who suffered his second season ending injury in as many years when he tore his ACL on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
Practice squad receiver Rodney Smith has been upgraded to the 53-man roster and safety Brandan Bishop has been signed back to the practice squad after getting released in the final round of cuts on Aug. 31.
Smith, 23, is an undrafted rookie free agent out of Florida State that played high school and college ball with rookie cornerback Xavier Rhodes. He's the second undrafted rookie to make the 53-man this year after fullback Zach Line started the first three games in Jerome Felton's absence.
