ST. LOUIS -- Percy Harvin is going to have surgery after all.

The Minnesota Vikings' top receiver posted on Twitter on Saturday that he would have "minor surgery" later in the day.

Harvin didn't specify what he's having done, but it likely is a clean-up procedure on the left ankle that caused him to miss three games before being placed on season-ending injured reserve last week.

Coach Leslie Frazier said the hope was Harvin would avoid surgery.

It's the second known surgery for Harvin in the past eight months. He also underwent ankle surgery in April.
