MANKATO, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings waived linebacker Stanford Keglar in order to make room for free agent linebacker Desmond Bishop in late June, but he's back.
A little more than a month after, the team announced they released linebacker Nathan Williams, who had been on the Physically Unable to Perform list since the start of training camp with an ankle injury, and resigned Keglar, who hasn't played in the NFL since the Houston Texans cut him before the 2011 season.
Keglar, 27, was initially signed to the Vikings in May and told 1500ESPN.com that he had planned to retire if no one gave him another chance.
The Vikings still have nine linebackers with releasing Williams and adding Keglar.
