At least one former Minnesota Gophers football player who took part in the Minnesota Vikings' rookie minicamp last weekend has earned himself a contract.
The Vikings signed defensive lineman Anthony Jacobs on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilson of Fox Sports and Scout.com. Jacobs is 6-foot-2, 291 pounds.
Defensive tackle Brandon Kirksey and wide receiver Da'Jon McKnight were among the other former Gophers to receive tryouts with the Vikings last weekend after not being selected in last month's draft.
Tight ends Nick Tow-Arnett and Tiree Eure also were on the list of 39 players who were brought to Winter Park for a look.
The Vikings also had free-agent linebacker Rocky McIntosh in for a tryout on Tuesday, according to reports. McIntosh, 29, was a second-round pick of Washington in 2006 and spent his first six seasons with the Redskins.
