A day after releasing cornerback Jacob Lacey, the Minnesota Vikings announced the signing of rookie defensive lineman Spencer Nealy.

Nealy, 22, went undrafted in April after finishing his senior season at Texas A&M with 42 tackles, two sacks and three pass deflections.

Nealy (6-3, 285) tried out for the Detroit Lions as an undrafted free agent, but was released this month. Nealy played defensive end at Texas A&M, but was listed as a defensive tackle with the Lions.

As Vikings defensive tackle Christian Ballard is away from the team indefinitely, Nealy will likely try out on the inside of the defensive line.
