The Minnesota Vikings are going to give a tryout to defensive end Matt Singletary this weekend at the team's rookie camp, according to Adam Caplan.
Singletary is the son of former Chicago Bears great Mike Singletary, who serves as a special assistant to Vikings coach Leslie Frazier and helps to coach the team's linebackers along with Fred Pagac.
Matt Singletary completed his collegiate football career at California Polytechnic State University after initially attending Baylor. He played defensive end and outside linebacker at Cal Poly.
In 11 games last season, Singletary had 16 tackles and 2.5 tackles for losses. He played in the NFLPA Bowl after the season.
