The Minnesota Vikings are moving swiftly through their quarterback workouts in preparation for May's NFL Draft.
On Friday, the Vikings are set to work out Eastern Illinois quarterback prospect Jimmy Garoppolo, per ESPN reports.
Garoppolo has recently received high praise from football experts as NFL Media's Charley Casserly claimed Garoppolo has 'the best tape' of any quarterback in the draft. Garoppolo's former coach Dino Babers recently told CBS Radio that Garoppolo has one of the fastest releases 'since Dan Marino.'
The Vikings met with former LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger this week, including attending the Tigers Pro Day on Wednesday and a subsequent dinner with team officials. The Vikings have already met with San Jose State's David Fales, Fresno State's Derek Carr, UCF's Blake Bortles, Texas A&M's Johnny Manziel and Alabama's A.J. McCarron either in private workouts or after their Pro Day workouts.
Louisville prospect Teddy Bridgewater will work out in the Vikings' 'Top-30' event next week, per ESPN.
With Christian Ponder and Matt Cassel under contract for next season, the Vikings are in the draft market for the next franchise cadence caller. The Vikings have the No. 8 overall pick and one second (40th) and two third round (72nd and 96th) picks to start May's draft.
