MANKATO, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings shed defensive end Rakim Cox and signed a familiar face to Mike Zimmer's defense on Monday.
Chris Crocker, 34, has played for Zimmer since both were in Atlanta in 2007 -- including the previous six seasons in Cincinnati. The Bengals cut Crocker in 2012 after he started 38 games from 2009-12, but re-signed him after the start of the 2013 season.
Crocker had served as a defensive captain for Zimmer's Bengals, but struggled to stay healthy as he's played a full 16-game season just once since 2006.
He made four starts for the Bengals last season, one at safety and three at cornerback -- including the team's playoff loss to San Diego.
