EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings released cornerback Jacob Lacey less than a week after they re-signed him and added cornerback Shaun Prater, formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals. Both teams remain on the Vikings schedule.
Lacey, 26, didn't get much of a look after getting cut on Aug. 19 by the Vikings and re-signed when safety Harrison Smith was placed on injured reserve last week.
Prater, 23, is a former fifth-round pick by the Bengals in the 2012 draft. He suffered a knee injury in early August of his rookie season and was placed on injured reserve.
He failed to make the 53-man roster this season with the Bengals, but was claimed off waivers by the Eagles and appeared in one game, not on defense. The Eagles waived him on Sunday.
