The Minnesota Vikings continued to trim their roster in anticipation of rookie signings on Monday by waiving two undrafted rookies: center Tommy Hernandez and defensive lineman Cedric McKinley.

The Vikings now have 75 players under contract and six unsigned draft picks. So, they'll have to make one more roster move before training camp begins on July 30 to reach the 80-man limit.

UPDATE, 4:41 p.m.: The team announced it also has claimed receiver Marko Mitchell off waivers from Detroit.

Mitchell, 25, was drafted in the seventh round last year by Washington and appeared in 10 games for the Redskins, catching four passes for 32 yards.

After Washington's new regime cut the 6-foot-4, 218-pound Nevada-Reno product on May 5, Mitchell was claimed off waivers by the Lions, who then released him on Friday.

The Vikings reportedly put in a claim on Mitchell in May, too, but the Lions are much higher on the waiver priority list, which is based on last year's record.

The claim means the roster actually stands at 82, with 76 under contract, and two more moves will have to be made in the coming weeks.
