Kyle Rau's hit on Jason Zucker will cost him another game.

The WCHA suspended Rau for the Gophers hockey team's series finale at Denver on Saturday, the team announced.

The Gophers already trailed 4-2 in the second period on Friday night when Rau delivered a high check to Denver's Jason Zucker in front of the benches. Zucker, who is a good bet to play for the Minnesota Wild within two years, went down hard and left the game with an upper body injury.

Rau was given a five-minute major penalty for boarding after the hit and ejected. The Pioneers took control of the momentum and the game at that point on their way to a 5-3 win.
