The Minnesota Wild will have their coach behind the bench again next season.
The team announced Saturday that it has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with Yeo. His previous contract expired after this season.
"I am very excited to continue to coach the Minnesota Wild and pursue a Stanley Cup for the State of Hockey," Yeo said in a statement released by the Wild. "Our fan support has been amazing and it went to a new level during the playoffs this season. We are all motivated to reward them."
Terms of the deal are not immediately known. Minnesota was 104-82-26 in Yeo's first three seasons.
He coached this past season in the final year of his previous contract. In late December, it seemed he may have been coaching for his job with the team in a tailspin. But the team responded with a string of victories, locked up a playoff spot and won the franchise's first playoff series since 2003.
