The Minnesota Wild sent goalie Matt Hackett to Houston of the American Hockey League on Wednesday and set the 23-man roster they will take into Saturday night's regular-season opener against Columbus at Xcel Energy Center.
Hackett was called up from the Aeros this week after goalie Josh Harding suffered a minor injury to his left ankle in an off-the-ice team-building exercise that was conducted Sunday near Superior, Wis.
The Wild spent a couple of days practicing in Duluth after playing their preseason finale last Friday against Edmonton.
Harding, however, apparently is fine to start the season as the primary backup to Niklas Backstrom.
Here's the Wild's roster:
Forwards: Pierre-Marc Bouchard, Kyle Brodziak, Brett Bulmer, Cal Clutterbuck, Matt Cullen, Colton Gillies, Dany Heatley, Nick Johnson">Nick Johnson, Mikko Koivu, Guillaume Latendresse, Eric Nystrom, Darroll Powe, Devin Setoguchi, Brad Staubitz.
