ST. PAUL -- Matt Cooke is expected to be back in the Wild's lineup on Friday night for Game 4 of their second-round playoff series against Chicago at Xcel Energy Center.
Coach Mike Yeo said that he anticipates Cooke will return after the winger served a seven-game suspension for a knee-on-knee hit against Colorado defenseman Tyson Barrie in Game 3 of the Wild's first-round series against the Avalanche.
Cooke had one assist in the first three playoff games.
"I would expect him to come in the lineup," Yeo said. "This is a guy that's not fun to play against. This is a guy who helps our penalty kill.
"He's a guy that matchup wise and momentum wise, and just as far as the way that we want to play the game, and the way that we need to play the game against these guys, he should help us get to that. But, obviously, we have a couple of days to make that decision."
The Wild will have to scratch a forward to make room for Cooke.
