The Minnesota Wild recalled defenseman Marco Scandella from Houston on Monday and reassigned left wing Stephane Veilleux to Houston as they prepared for Tuesday's playoff opener at Chicago.
Scandella, 23, had one goal and four penalty minutes in four games for the Wild during the regular season and two goals, 15 assists and 23 penalty minutes in 45 games with Houston.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Quebec native mostly played for the Wild last season, ranking second among NHL rookies in blocked shots (106) and ice time (21:46 per game).
Veilleux, 31, has been up and down multiple times in recent weeks as the Wild try to fill holes for injuries.
