Stephane Veilleux skated in only two games for the Minnesota Wild this past season. That apparently was enough for the team to decide he's worth keeping around.

The Wild announced on Wednesday that Veilleux has signed a two-year, two-way contract.

The 31-year-old forward had three goals, five assists and 45 penalty minutes in 33 regular-season games this season for the Wild's AHL affiliate in Houston. He was recalled during the playoffs and skated in two games of the opening-round loss to Chicago.

The Wild drafted Veilleux (6-foot-1, 200 pounds) in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2001 draft and reacquired him in a trade with New Jersey on Feb. 24, 2012.
