With the NHL free-agency period kicking off at midnight, the Wild wasted no time re-signing restricted free agent Guillaume Latendresse to a two-year, $5 million contract.
According to the Star Tribune's Mike Russo, Latendresse will earn $2.4 million next year, and $2.6 million in 2011-2012. UPDATE: The Wild has announced the move and confirmed it's a two-year deal.
Latendresse, 23, was traded to the Wild from Montreal last season for Benoit Puliot. He scored 25 goals for the Wild in 55 games, while also tallying 12 assists.
The Wild remains approximately $10 million under the salary cap after this signing.
