The Minnesota Wild made a pair of moves Wednesday as they returned to practice after a nearly two-week layoff.

Defenseman Jonathon Blum and forward Jake Dowell were recalled from the AHL's Iowa Wild. Both will join the Wild as they practice over next few days before their four-man Olympian crew returns from Sochi after the Winter Games conclude.

Blum has played in four games this season, back in early January. Dowell has put up 14 points (six goals, eight assists) in 42 games with Iowa.

The Wild also announced goalie John Curry, who was signed to a two-way NHL contract on Monday, has been assigned to the Iowa Wild.

Minnesota is set to resume the season on Feb. 27 at Edmonton.

Koivu back

Wild captain Mikko Koivu, out since Jan. 4 nursing a broken ankle, has been cleared to practice again, according to the Star Tribune's Michael Russo.

Koviu's injured ankle forced him to miss playing for the Finnish national team at the Olympics.
