The Minnesota Wild are desperate for a change in momentum after losing the first two games of their first round playoff series against the Colorado Avalanche.
That likely means a change in goalie for the Wild.
Back in St. Paul on Sunday to prepare for Game 3, coach Mike Yeo chose not to reveal which of his goalies he expects to start in net on Monday (6 p.m at Xcel Energy Center).
Ilya Bryzgalov started the series' first two games, but he was pulled in the second period of Game 2 on Saturday after the Avalanche bounded out to a 3-1 lead. Darcy Kuemper came on in relief, stopping all 14 shots he faced. The Wild still went on to lose 4-2.
Yeo not tipping hand as far as potential #mnwild lineup changes or starting goalie— Michael Russo (@Russostrib) April 20, 2014
Kuemper: If I do get the start, I'm really excited. It's a big game for the team and I'm going to do my part. #mnwild— Michael Russo (@Russostrib) April 20, 2014
It would be Kuemper's first career playoff start.
The Wild have a sizable task in front of them if they intend to come back and win the series. Colorado has never lost a playoff series when holding a 2-0 advantage.
