MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota Twins outfielder Josh Willingham is scheduled to leave the team for up to three days, starting Wednesday, to be with his pregnant wife.
To take his place the Twins will recall outfielder Ben Revere from Triple-A Rochester after Tuesday's game against the Boston Red Sox.
Revere batted .222 (6-for-27) with one RBI and three runs scored in six games with the Red Wings after being optioned from Minnesota on April 14.
MLB's paternity leave rule permits a player to miss up to three days (and at least one), with the team being allowed to recall a player over that stretch.
