MINNEAPOLIS -- The Timberwolves are missing a critical piece in their starting lineup Wednesday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Guard Kevin Martin is sidelined due to flu symptoms, leaving the Wolves to make due in the absence of one their top scoring threats. A 30-point outing Monday against the Los Angeles Clippers pushed Martin's five-game scoring average to 27 points (17-of-31 from 3-point range).

In Martin's place, rookie Robbie Hummel was given the unlikely starting nod -- his first career start.

Hummel, a 2012 second round pick out of Purdue, has played sparingly off the bench in the Wolves' first eight games. A danger from outside, Hummel hasn't found his range yet. He has four points in 22 total minutes (2-of-7).
