As it turns out, LeBron James agreeing to sign with the Heat wasn't the only move stemming from South Beach on Thursday night.
The Timberwolves and Heat have agreed to a trade that sends the second-overall pick in the 2008 draft, Michael Beasley, to Minnesota for a 2011 second round draft pick.
Per ESPN's Mark Stein, the deal also calls for a potential swap of future first round draft picks.
For Miami, this trade is presumably motivated by cap space. By shipping Beasley to the Wolves, Miami is able to offer more money to LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh.
For the Wolves, who were officially shut out from acquiring David Lee, they get what amounts to a free look at one of the most talented basketball players in the league -- a guy many regarded as the number one overall talent in the 2008 draft.
Then again, the same could be said for Darko Milicic in 2003.
