Needing an extra body at point guard, the Minnesota Timberwolves have waived off-guard Maurice Ager.
According to the Star Tribune, this clears room for the team to sign Sundiata Gaines -- a former Utah Jazz point guard who worked out for the Wolves earlier this week.
Ager, who signed with the Wolves on September 24, 3.8 points in four games, but his biggest contribution may have been hitting a half-court shot at the end of the third quarter against the Lakers on Tuesday night.
Point guard Jonny Flynn (hip) is expected to play his first game of the season on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers.
