EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Vikings weren't just dealing with the NFL Draft on Thursday.

They also signed free-agent end Lawrence Jackson to a one-year contract, an NFL source confirmed.

Terms were not immediately available. The Associated Press first reported the deal.

Jackson, 27, was Seattle's first-round pick (28th overall) in 2008. He played the past three seasons with Detroit. He has 19½ career sacks and has forced four fumbles.

The Vikings' top three defensive ends -- Jared Allen, Brian Robison and Everson Griffen -- all are unsigned beyond the end of the 2013 season.
