Currently, Wisconsin is 13th in terms of craft breweries in the United States with 121. However, other states could soon pass the Badger State if a current law isn’t amended. A provision in the 2011 state budget made Wisconsin one of 32 states that does not allow those who have a liquor license or owns a liquor store to receive a brewery permit. State Representative Dale Kooyenga , R-Brookfield, has stated that he believes this issue will be addressed in the next session.
