Justin Morneau joins Twins’ TV crew, scheduled to be in booth for six games

The Twins announced an addition to their rotating cast of analysts who will work with play-by-play voice Dick Bremer this season on Fox Sports North.

Former Twins first baseman Justin Morneau, who joined the team’s front office as a special assistant in January after officially announcing his retirement as a player, will work about a half-dozen telecasts this season and also will be on FSN for approximately a dozen pre- and postgame shows.

Hall of Fame pitcher Bert Blyleven is scheduled to work 80 games for the second consecutive season. Blyleven, a Twins television analyst for more than two decades, reportedly agreed to a two-year contract before the 2017 season that took his workload from 100 to 80 games.

Jack Morris, who will enter the Hall of Fame in July, and former Twins shortstop Roy Smalley are expected to each work 24 games. Former Twins LaTroy Hawkins and Torii Hunter, who, like Morneau, serve as  special assistants to the Twins’ baseball operations department, are scheduled to work 12 games apiece.

Morris, Smalley, Hawkins and Hunter all worked games on FSN last season as well.
