Vikings’ final 2017 pick is NC State corner Jack Tocho

The Vikings didn’t invest much in their defensive backfield in the 2017 draft, taking their only cornerback late in the seventh round.

North Carolina State’s Jack Tocho ranked highly in the bench press at the NFL Combine but ran just a 4.54 40-yard dash.

His NFL.com draft profile expressed concerns about his speed.

“Tocho has good size and is an experienced press corner with a decent closing burst to the ball, but an inability to carry speed down the field could limit his scheme fits. The football intelligence and instincts are good enough but he has to prove he can run.”

Tocho allowed just a 72.5 Quarterback Rating on throws in his direction.
