Report: Vikings sign guard after mini camp tryout

The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly signed Arizona offensive lineman Freddie Tagaloa after he tried out for the team at Rookie Mini Camp.

Tagaloa is a 6-foot-8 guard who has battled injuries during his time with the Wildcats, but has terrific strength. At Arizona’s pro day, he did 41 bench press reps, more than anyone who attended the NFL Combine.

In 2016, he made Bruce Feldman’s list of “freaks” in college football.

Feldman wrote:

“He set records at Arizona for his 475-pound bench and doing 38 reps at 225 pounds. “He’s a bad man,” said Arizona great Scooby Wright. “He also has that first one in/last one out mentality.”

    Man o man… 6’8″ and 314 lbs capable of benching 225 lbs 40+ times… that’s who I want on my team!!

Agree ~ And check it out he plays left OG ~ Not a right OG who will be moved to the left side ~ Thats even more outstanding ~ Yes he is a long shot but the Vikings have had as good of luck as anyone finding real talent among the undrafted ~

Hopefully they Vikings can hide him on their PS until they can can come up with a workout that will help him keep the injury bug away ~ A lot of times the guys are so big and strong they lack flexibility which can lead to a lot of their inures ~

Agree with both of you. Wisdom on the workout suggestion w/ focus on stretching.

The trash dumpsters of the NFL are littered with the bones of workout warriors. Can he PLAY? That is what the team will need to decide.

Not much of a talent based on that tape
