Trae Waynes suffered a right shoulder injury early in the Vikings’ 17-10 preseason-opening victory Thursday at Buffalo, but coach Mike Zimmer told the Star Tribune afterward that the cornerback was only dealing with a sore shoulder.

Zimmer did not appear concerned about the injury. Waynes was hurt after putting a hit on Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins and did not return.

Running back Bishop Sankey, meanwhile, was on crutches and had a brace on his right knee after the game. Sankey told the Star Tribune he will have an MRI on Friday. Sankey rushed for 14 yards on four carries and also caught four passes for 15 yards before leaving Thursday’s game.
