The Wild added an interesting piece to the mix Tuesday morning, ahead of the team’s home game against the Vancouver Canucks.
The Wild claimed forward Jarret Stoll off waivers from the New York Rangers. Stoll, 33, has struggled this season, but he was a part of the L.A. Kings’ Stanley Cups and the center is on a one-year, $800,000 contract.
The Rangers placed him on waivers Monday, according to reports, and the Wild beat Tuesday’s noon deadline by putting in a claim.
Stoll has played 29 games this year and has just one goal and two assists. He’s good in the faceoff circle, however, as he’s won 57.9 percent of his draws this year. For comparison, Mikko Koivu has won 55.5 percent of his faceoffs this year.
This summer, Stoll pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors stemming from an arrest over possession of cocaine, though neither plea was regarding drugs.
Stoll also is reportedly dating television personality Erin Andrews.
